We apply the color in salon and you rinse off at home. You are in and out of salon in a flash! Perfect for those on the go with zero time and or those reducing the time being spent indoors during the pandemic. Make an appointment or walk-in for a service. We will consult, apply and prepare you for the drive home to rinse. Most visits are done within 15-30mins. Best option to receive a professional color application and a great time saver! 

We now offer home coloring kits to those that are vulnerable or do not feel ready to visit a social setting such as a salon. Salon visits are a violation of social distancing when working in such close proximity to clients and because of this we understand many of you may need home solutions. We have put together a professional solution that can be purchased on our website and picked up curbside, to help you do your coloring at home. Home Coloring Consultation  

Purchase a consultation with one of our colorist to discuss your color needs and design a personalized formula. Consultations will take place outside weather permitting or on a video conference. Add the Home Color Consultation to your purchase if you are a first time client or need a color formula update. Existing clients do not need to purchase a consult if the same formula is desired.

Home Coloring Product Kit

We prepare your customized color formula to take home and immediately apply yourself. This is a one process coloring solution to the regrowth hair with color formulas to lighten up to 3 levels, darken or cover grey. The custom color formula is mixed 15min prior to your arrival, the product formula used is the same as if you had done an in the salon coloring service. It is not a prepackaged color out of a tube or bottle. A customized formula with a reputable product like Goldwell, will help to prevent mistakes such as color banding or striping and prevents the color from going to dark. Highlighting and Balayage hair painting requires a physical technique and would be necessary to do in-salon.

The coloring product solutions provided below are temporary solutions and will not permanently alter your current color. These are not perfect solutions but they will get you thru until you come in. We chose these purposefully as a safe solution to use at home, that will not create a potential color correction. They offer different commitment levels of color pigment, with deposit only features and will not lighten natural or existing hair color. The deeper the color shade chosen, the more coverage of the grey but the darker the hair could appear. If your color choice is lighter you will have a reflection of tone or shimmer of tone over grey hairs

Depending on selected shade, color pigments have the ability to temporarily add pigment to existing hair color, including natural hair, highlights, silver or white hair. Larger amounts and courser textures of grey/white hair will be the most difficult to color evenly. Do not be surprised if the results are a sheer blended coverage of the grey and white hair. An indicator of results is the more white vs grey is present in the roots, the more likely the color results will be sheer or blended. 

Those desiring lighter roots, choosing one of the Root Powder Cover Ups would be the best choice. A lighter powder color can give the illusion of lightness over darker roots. The WOW Platinum or Goldwell Light Blonde root powder cover ups are excellent choices for this. We recommend either of these instead of doing a store bought box color that can cause possible brassy or orange roots.

We recommend using gloves to protect and prevent staining of hands when applying colors especially for the darker colors. Pigmented products if making contact, can stain other porous services, such as skin, walls, tile, curtains, counters and other surfaces. Try to prevent the product from making contact and wipe immediately if possible to prevent stains and  make clean up easier. Do not under any circumstances place these or any color products under a heat source.

Its common to purchase both of these products for use. SoftColor is more of a color service and Color Revive is more of regular use product. When using SoftColor it is not necessary to also use the Color Revive on the same day. Nothing negative will happen but would waste the Color Revive Product. We at Artistex do not like you to waste any product!

We expect that some clients may consider applying a store bought box color, professional Permanent or Demi-Permanent Color from a beauty supply and Henna Colors with promises of being a healthier choice. We can not stop you from doing this but we strongly suggest you don't and here is why. Any of these options can cause unfavorable results and a very costly color corrective situation. This is especially concerning with blondes, red hair and clients with highlights or balayage. We know its tough right now and are suggesting the product solutions below to ensure that later we can easily service your hair without having to first charge for a corrective coloring service. Please do not use googled or home remedies to color or lighten hair. 

It is strongly advised not to use a Henna Product. In most cases it is not possible to remove or correct a Henna Product. Henna is often used in products labeled Natural or Organic and can give a false impression of being temporary.

If you have done one of these options on your hair and have a brassy or orange result. The best solution at this point to correct it, is to use the SoftColor Hair Color Foam to help neutralize the undesirable tones. In some cases the only correction we can offer is to apply a dark color all over hair. Contact us and we will help you choose a color shade or find a solution.
