This is a one-process coloring solution for regrowth hair, with formulas designed to lighten up to 3 levels, darken, or cover grey. It is not a prepackaged color from a tube or bottle. A customized formula with reputable products like Goldwell helps prevent mistakes such as color banding or striping and avoids the color going too dark. The deeper the color shade chosen, the more coverage of the grey, but the darker the hair may appear. If you opt for a lighter color, you will see a reflection of tone or shimmer over grey hairs. Depending on the selected shade, color pigments in professional hair color can temporarily add pigment to existing hair color, including natural hair, highlights, silver, or white hair. Larger amounts and coarser textures of grey or white hair will be the most challenging to color evenly. Don't be surprised if the results provide a sheer blended coverage of the grey and white hair. An indicator of results is that the more white versus grey present in the roots, the more likely the color results will be sheer or blended. For those desiring lighter roots, choosing one of the Root Powder Cover Ups would be the best option. A lighter powder color can create the illusion of lightness over darker roots. The WOW Platinum or Goldwell Light Blonde root powder cover ups are excellent temporary color solutions. We recommend these options over using store-bought box colors that can sometimes lead to brassy or orange roots.

We recommend using gloves to protect your hands and prevent staining when applying colors, especially the darker shades found in many home coloring kits. Pigmented products can stain porous surfaces, including skin, walls, tiles, curtains, counters, and other areas. To avoid stains and make cleanup easier, try to prevent contact with these surfaces, and wipe immediately if possible. Under no circumstances should you place these or any professional hair color products under a heat source.

It’s common to purchase both temporary color solutions like SoftColor and regular use products such as Color Revive. When using SoftColor, there’s no need to apply Color Revive on the same day. While nothing negative will occur, it would be a waste of the Color Revive product. At Artistex, we want to help you minimize waste and get the best results from your coloring experience!

We expect that some clients may consider using store bought box color, professional hair color, or even Demi-Permanent Color from beauty supply stores, as well as Henna Colors that promise to be a healthier choice. While we cannot stop you from choosing these options, we strongly advise against it for several reasons. Any of these home coloring kits can lead to unfavorable results and potentially costly color corrective situations, especially for clients with blondes, red hair, and those with highlights or balayage. We understand that times are tough, and we recommend the temporary color solutions below to ensure we can easily service your hair later without needing to charge for a corrective coloring service. Please refrain from using googled or home remedies to color or lighten your hair.

It is strongly advised not to use a Henna Product, as it is often challenging to remove or correct. Henna is frequently found in products labeled as Natural or Organic, which can create a misleading impression of being a temporary solution.

If you have already used one of these options and ended up with a brassy or orange result, the best way to correct it is to use the SoftColor Hair Color Foam to help neutralize those undesirable tones. In some instances, the only correction we can offer is to apply a dark color all over your hair. Please contact us, and we will assist you in choosing a color shade or finding a solution.
